London’s investment market is seeing new momentum, with volumes reaching £7.1bn in the first half of 2025 – a 14% increase on the same period in 2024, according to the latest data from Opportunity London’s research partner JLL. Of those investors targeting London, European investors are leading the charge, representing 38% of total investment, followed by Asia Pacific at 15%, US at 7% and Middle Eastern capital at 5%. UK domestic investors accounted for 28% of all activity.
With evidence suggesting a return of confidence in London’s investment market, over 300 senior investors, developers and civic leaders will gather today – Wednesday 17 September 2025 – at the Global Investment Summit for the launch of Opportunity London’s new Investment Prospectus. The Prospectus sets out £22bn of live opportunities totalling £81bn GDV* across London, spanning housing, infrastructure, life sciences, energy and culture.
Opportunity London says the Capital’s investment activity is expected to continue to strengthen as investors increasingly look to deploy capital in the city attracted to its long-term stability and depth and breadth of market that continues to outshine all other global cities. These investors benefit from London’s stable legal and financial systems, top talent and a pioneering status in internationally competitive sectors including professional services, creative industries, the ‘experience economy’, technology and innovation, all of which are underpinned by a clear, investable pipeline in real estate and infrastructure.
Driving the recovery, JLL’s latest Global Investor Sentiment Survey suggests US and Canadian capital will be a major player of international buyer activity in London in the coming year, with Europe and the Middle East also expected to expand allocations towards London. These investors see London as representing stronger fundamentals amidst the backdrop of shifting US trade policy and ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine. Private equity and private investors will remain the most active buyer groups as the pace of recovery increases.
Jace Tyrrell, CEO of Opportunity London, said:
London’s status as a leading global city continues to drive investor interest in the city’s real estate and infrastructure. In 2025 we are seeing those early signs of a new investment wave crystalise with a marked uptick on recent’ investment volumes that is testament to London’s ability to provide long term security and opportunities of scale.
