Fathom has designed a highly sustainable 100 per cent affordable housing development in Blackfriars, comprising 62 contemporary almshouses for local elderly residents facing hardship supported by community uses, affordable workspace and public gardens. The exemplary development allows local elderly people to live independently and affordably, and is funded by a 22,500 sqm flexible commercial workspace facing Blackfriars Road. New public gardens link Blackfriars Road to the emerging Low Line. Consented in September 2021, the development is planned to complete in 2025.
